Kayak 1 mile
Paddle the historic Hudson River surrounded by stunning vistas of Storm King Mountain
Bike 12 miles
Cycle a challenging loop on country roads through the lush Hudson highlands to the quaint village of Garrison and back to Cold Spring 
Run 3 miles
Complete the circuit with a trail run through the cozy village of Cold Spring and the natural beauty of Little Stony Point Park

The Chief Michael Shortell Memorial Scholarship Fund

 

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund is a leader in supporting the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families. Begun in 2000 under the auspices of the Intrepid Museum Foundation. The Fund has provided close to $60 million in support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans.

The Chief Michael Shortell Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 by his siblings to ensure his legacy lives on. Michael was a NYPD Deputy Chief with 26 years on the NYPD. He died in a tragic accident  at his home on July 18, 2005. Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors toward their college education.

You can enter as an individual or as a team. No matter which you choose , you’ll finish with a great sense of personal accomplishment and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a contribution to worthy causes. There will be special prizes awarded to teams from  the Police and Fire Departments as well as the  US military.

The race  starts and finishes at the Cold Spring waterfront amidst the astonishing natural beauty of the mountains, water, and rugged shores that surround this “jewel” of the Hudson Valley. Race day check-in begins at 7:00 AM. There will be a post  race party on the waterfront with music, food and beverages. The event will be held  RAIN OR SHINE!  There is ample free parking at Metro North Parking Lot.
